Help!! Rolling backwards?!!

Postby pumpernickel » Tue Nov 09, 2010 10:00 pm

It's my understanding that the percentages are meant to get lower as the actual stats get higher or something. can someone explain how to get the titles to roll? Rolling for Dummies didn't really explain the how very well. The list of percentages would be useful if you could actually make sense of the process.

At the moment i'm trying to roll this horse http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=2116790 and the percentages are getting higher, not lower. what could cause that?

Nope. As you raise an actual stat, the percentage gets higher. To make the percentage go lower, it needs to be the highest or lowest actual stat, and you need to train in something once per turn that does not raise anything. Your best bets are "Treat Injury" or "Arena: Enrage." You can also use Teamwork, but I stay away from that one because it raises endy by .25 after you train in it twice. Make sense?

Rolling means you're making the percentage lower, but the actual stat stays the same.

how do you train in something and get the actual stat to stay the same though?

I told you. :) Train in something that doesn't raise any stats like "Treat Injury" or "Arena: Enrage."

for the whole turn? what's that going to achieve, apart from ageing the horse?! I think you mistook my last post. What I meant was that training in something (eg speed), the actual speed stat will change. how do you get it so the actual stat stays the same?

Ok, I think we've got some terms confused here :)

Rolling is the process of lowering the percentages in order to change the stat titles to a higher one (example: Extraordinary > Amazing). Only the highest stat and the lowest stats (the actuals, the ones in the brackets) will roll. In order to roll, you have to train at least ONCE in Teamwork (note: training more than twice in this will raise Endurance), Enrage or Treat Injury. Just once works :)

Now, training in anything else (so excluding Teamwork (remembering the note above), Enrage or Treat Injury) will result in one or more stat actuals rising. Sometimes a stat title will roll higher by training up the actuals, however normally what players want is the higher actual rather than to roll the stat title this way.

So, what I believe you want to do is to roll the stat title correct? Not the actual stat? Then make sure the two stats you want rolled in the correct order (lowest stat will roll MORE than the highest stat), then train in Teamwork, Enrage OR Treat Injury once per turn.

Make sense?

I think i've got it figured out. http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=2116790 So how many times is that? Is it 6? Obviously I will have to fine tune it, but I think that's the basics covered. Is there any way to lower speed (the actual stat, so that I can roll it) or do I have to train the other stats above speed? Same for intelligence? I know the diet can lower endurance and strength but can you do anything for the others?

Unfortunately, speed and intelligence can only be raised. :( You have to train other stats higher.

wait, do you have to train the two stats to roll them? or just train to get them to top and bottom? because i've been training the top and bottom stats. I think i've missed the point of rolling.

Any horse, once it has 450 points or the blue writing on the Morning Stable Report, will start rolling the highest actual and the lowest actual stat, as long as you train in something during the turn.

As actual stat numbers rise, so do the percentages, but that does not affect that the percentages are still rolling.. About .05 for the stat with the lowest actual and .03 for the stat with the highest actual. So, if the highest stat raises .6, the percentage will go up about .6 as well, however, the game will deduct about .05 from the percentage when you take the turn.

When the percentage reaches a low enough point, the descriptor (Good, Amazing, Phenomenal, etc.) will get change to the better. At what point that is depends on what the actual is at. The link Zimmy shared can tell you what point those are if the actuals are at 200.

Strength and Endurance are the only stats that can be lowered through diet. When you are focusing on rolling, you really don't want to change the actuals much unless you need to raise or lower one, so you train in treat injury or teamwork. If you need speed or intel to change to be the lowest actual, you will need to train up the other stats' actuals.

Thanks alabama. That is really clear cut, simple, easy to understand. One last thing, do i have to treat injury 6x in the turn, or is once enough?
