Owning A Personal Breed...>>

Postby Xylene » Fri May 22, 2009 9:50 pm

I want to know what it is like when one owns a personal breed before I get myself into a big mess. The goods, the bad, whatever. I'd like some responses from players who actually made their personal breed.

I won my breed luckily but I still think I can be pretty accurate.

Pros:
You get your own breed!

Cons:
Price
Popularity (meaning, if you want to resell, will anyone be interested?)
Stats, I havn't really gotten far enough into mine to start eventing, but I hear that some don't do as well as others.

I think thats about it. xD

So like in price, do you have to pay the price to get a foundation horse of your personal breed like in every other breed (that you can buy an foundation of)?

I don't know how much it costs to buy additional foundies. I haven't the need to do that just yet (if ever). But I like having my Argent Lipis ... when I get around to actually eventing them. ^^

And echoing whatever Brood said. ;)

I love my private breeds. Theyre addicting tho :/ You can order extra pairs through paypal, just as if you were ordering other foundies through Paypal.

Brood's right, there are a bunch of Pro's, like having something thats yours to work with.

Unfortunately you can't pick the stats that you want, its kind of a get what you get situation, most of my breeds turned out okay.

But if you want to specialize in something, and really want a breed of your own, I say go for it :)

The biggest drawback is definitely that some of them come out super eventable and some... well... some don't. lol. I love them all because they are mine, but the ones that can actually get out there and compete give me the most satisfaction.

I have 3 breeds and I love everyone of them! All of them are competitive in the field that I wanted them in, meaning they make a decent chunk of change when evented. I also have had the good fortune of having one breed I REALLY wanted go public, so that saved me an arm and a leg :)

I think you should get one. Its something you will def enjoy!!
