What are you going to do with your Olympic horses afterwards

Postby Shekeira » Sat Mar 19, 2011 4:38 pm

Depending on their ages, I think I can probably get a few FH years out of my Racing and Steeple Olympians, but I might run my FH'ers in Gymkana, just to get them some winnings.

At least this quickens my consolidation program!

I can't help wondering if the FHers would still be alright in oldie events, since it isn't based around score any more: I was going to carry them on and see what happened, just for the fun of it. :)

all my drivers will join my mile-long list of drafts waiting to go into vaulting (damn me and my unwillingness to run multiple horses in events at the same time). My ponies will do roadster. My vaulters and my roadster entries will just have to be rolled up, unless people start running some ancient events that they can enter  .
Not sure what I'll do with my WBs. If there are oldie events running then I'll put them in those, otherwise it's vaulting for them as well probably. Perhaps WB HoF for the jumpers and 3 dayers?
No idea what to do with my halter horses, I guess I could try them in classical dressage, but I don't really think they're cut out for it.

I don't do FH, so I'm not sure, but I feel like I often see lots of older FH events up, so I don't think you'll have too much trouble running them after the Olympics :)

yeah, I'm hoping everyone rallies together afterwards to get events up for all of our entries to enter. It will be fun to see how they continue to perform and be able to event them without the pressures of competition.

Compete, I guess. I'm not really sure as of right now. Besides, I have under 10 horses entered anyway

I plan to roll mine and just breed them. if any of my stallions do well I may put them up for stud or something. but my basic idea is to breed my olympic stock for next year out of this years olympic horses.
SAMCRO WB train off!6/5/16 - everyone see last post! competition might be cancelled!
Lots of cheap semen/stallions at stud new/struggling players pay $5k for most breedings!
Twisted's Brood mares! drastic discounts offered for new/struggling players! PM me for specific details!

Depending on the event, some may continue eventing. For track they will probably continue, since they are still real young, and the steeple horses could go on to FH or jumping. A few of the others will probably be rolled up for breeding. I'm liking Twisted's idea of breeding next years horses from this years! :D

Any horses of mine that do well I may try and get a few years of competing out of... whereas looking at my dressage horses so far they'll be just rolled for breeding xD

Mine will probably sit and collect dust, 'cause there are almost never Saddleseat/3-Gaited events, and rarely open Gaited or Oldies Gaited... So yeah, they'll get to sit around and be lazy, maybe get a custom colour or two..nothing too stressful XD

I'll continue eventing mine. =) I've got a couple of them that are major lined babies, so they're going to continue on. Hopefully to rack up some winnings for them to carry on the winning bloodlines. ^^

I was also toying with the idea of breeding Olympic lined horses for next year's olympics (if that is the plan) . . . my race filly may go on to FH or steeple as she is young . . .

They have nice bloodlines, but after the Olympics I haven't decided whether to continue eventing my FH or steeple horses as they are starting at a disadvantage.

Okay, I have a couple horses now that I might not end up sending to the glue factory.
But seriously, I'll probably event where I can and breed.
