If you've been a sponsor for 6 years, you can choose a special box dye on the Claim Reward! page. It goes into your inventory like any other dye, and you can put it on a horse from there.

I'm not sure how to search for horses who have been dyed those new box dyes. But hopefully someone will find a way.
