Can Someone Please Explain This?

Postby kwiedman » Fri Nov 06, 2009 12:06 am

http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=1986734 was born with all breeding bonuses, as well as 100% breeding skill. Mare is rolled and stud is still eventing but not young. I should get a monster foal, no? Or is there now a huge sucker for not having a rolled stud? This is twice in a row that this has happened to me and lets say the breeding to the mare wasn't cheap.

Rolled yes. But not rolled above bc.

I always go by the rule that if I want a bc foal thrown from 2 rolled horses, I go at least one full stat rolled wise above bc before I breed them. I tend to get better foals from parents with hellishly low percents. For German Warmbloods, to get bc foals I wont breed anything below Incon Str and Incon intel, because that helps insure a bc foal.

Breeding 2 bc foals together, especially eventers, doesnt always insure a bc foal, usually they will be at least one stat off, if not two, which is about where your foal is. If the horses you bred had Phen str and incon intel, you would have had a better chance of getting a bc foal.

Sometimes we get lucky and stats roll during eventing, which makes it easier :)

I know, it would be so much easier if it were cookies :D

Some breeds will throw bc from eventers, my TBs do it, and my Shires will. But Some breeds are a pain to get bc foals from eventers :(

Hit them with your shoe, it always makes me feel better :D

I just spent good money on that mare for a breeding, and to know I may not get a BC foal from her sucks lol Try finding a good, winning stallion up for stud that's rolled

This is one of the reason Jousting horses and Jumpers are fun... both have a tendancy... because of which stats are high and low... to roll really nicely during their careers.... I have trouble with most disciplines unless I have time to roll after they retire.

Many times I pass up the chance to have a winning Sire and Dam in exchange for one winner and one uber rolled parent... It may not look as impressive to some people, but I like having my BC foalies. lol.

I agree about hitting them with your shoe.

yep, that's what drives me crazy....for instance with my Dutch Warmbloods. Its just about impossible to event them and then roll them high enough to get a BC foal, but arabs and TBs seem to through BC pretty easily.

Quite annoying!

There is also the random factor. Even though every breeding horse on my account is rolled at least once beyond BC in every stat and some stats twice beyond, and has been for a very long time, I still have foals born below BC. Just as on occassion I'll breed a mare before she's rolled and will come up with uber stats.
