Team Penning

Postby Broodmare_paint » Thu Aug 14, 2008 9:49 pm

So quick question about team penning, well really penning on the game. xD

My third place horse:
192.53
3 cattle penned in: -4.885 seconds

The second place horse:
192.19
3 cattle penned in: -4.9005 seconds

So I thought penning was based on speed mostly (I know it is in real life) so what is this other score? If it was based on speed, I would have placed higher than the other horse, but it got a lower score on that other thing yet seems to be the determining factor.

What is this score exactly?

My horse already has high speed and strength from barrels, so I am currently raising intel.

Does the other horse have a higher competition score? That might be it, since the times are so close and the score will affect the actual penning score.

It has a much much higher competition score. So basicly it won over my horse because it has more "experience"?

EDIT
o_o I just got a lightbulb! I've always wondered why horses with lower stats would win over higher statted horses. Its the competition score! xD Im guessing the only way to raise this is to event them?

It was definitely the score. You should start eventing your horses young, even if they lose a lot. It boosts their score. For a penning horse I would probably start it out in barrels and then switch to penning or do it at the same time.

Yeah I start all my horses in barrels, thats what I have always done. I usually start them around 8 years. Then I would just do nothing in all those middle years but event them in pleasure, but it would pretty much just waste them. Now I am trying to put penning in the middle.
