Resetting Disciplines?

Postby Toxin » Mon Jun 02, 2008 9:53 am

I was in the process of eventing this mare in dressage. I took a turn and her disciplines reset from 200 to 150? I was training in driving, which has never effected disciplines, didn't change the diet, and didn't do anything that to my knowledge resets them. But they did?

Just slightly confused and frustrated since this means raising disciplines again. Does anyone know what happened?

if i remember correctly that if a horse has 200 in disciplines and you train in driving it resets it, but if it's 199, it won't do anything.

I've never had driving reset disciplines before, even at 200. :|

I've had it reset a couple times. I think it depends on the horse's specialty, maybe? I know if a horse is in halter, I have to watch training driving once I get disciplines up. Don't know if it's the same for other specialties or not. I know it doesn't reset in Western.

The thing is that driving does have disciplines on it, but it takes tons and tons of turns for it to up disciplines by one, say, from 199 to 200. It's a decimal percentage that ti goes up by, so like, 0.00001 or something... so if the disciplines are decimally close to moving up (again, say from 199 to 200), then driving could technically up disciplines, which could be what happened to your horse :)

confused much? lol

I have never ever had driving reset disciplines on any of my horses. =| Maybe you clicked something else instead of driving on accident?

Leave disciplines at 199. It doesn't seem to affect the eventing, and it gives you a buffer if you accidentally hit something wrong, or if you are one of the 'chosen few' who have had Driving reset something.
