Bug in the Eventing System?

Postby Unilover5 » Thu Dec 20, 2012 12:19 pm

I've noticed that horses are all over the place with their placings as of late. Take this horse for example: http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=2230166
Evented after the events went fully auto.
http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=2254465
Evented before the events went auto, there is at least consisntancy with events and not all over the place.
http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=2225489
This horse is also all over the place with events
http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=1715199
As is this horse

I'm not sure if i am missing something, or if the training on the horses isn't good enough, but to me, it looks almost like a horse evented in gym to me with placings everwhere with no consistancy what so ever.

I agree, this one looks all over the place. However, it's only 22 events, and all local. It could be random or different competition. Would like to take a look at it again at provincial.

I would expect provincial level to be more stable than lower levels. The competition is more stable. It also has less competition than what the auto provincial events have.

This one is hard to tell because when there were fewer eventers, the horses were stable. In events with more competition, the leaders are more or less stable, except a few events that I would probably say were random. For instance, http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/events ... ent=723428 is probably a random. It looks to me like when auto events were added at the provincial level, more competition was introduced, and the horses are closer to each other in competition.

I'm not sure either. I'd like to take another look when more auto provincial events are run to see if they stabilize themselves or if it's something we need Nef to look at. It's hard to judge anything looking at just a small number of events. With just 12 events, it's hard to say if random was being brutal and hitting at a more frequent rate or if something needs to be adjusted. I will say that Nef didn't change anything within the coding for judging events when they went auto.

It very well could be that it's just new compition and horses moving up and new ones coming in. Haven't looked to far in depth with the events. I will continue with the eventing and will keep an eye on my horses.

We've been watching not just these, but other events players have been telling us about and had Nef look. She thinks there was a bug, but that she fixed it today

This horses events just ran in the last two days, and it went from a normal record to all over the place again. http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... se=2264131

I am still seeing odd placings and jumpings in places as well, though I don't have a screen shot since trying last time caused my evil laptop to have an overload (it does not like to multi task) and it shut down on me.
