# of accounts allowed

I'm a bit confused on this. I read on different threads different answers and i was hoping someone could clear this up.

At the most, how many total ranches are you allowed to have? I've heard 5, then 10... but I've seen people advertising that they had more ranches than that? P
How about as a novice? Or as a sponsor? what if your sponsor runs out- are you still allowed to keep those ranches you made as a sponsor?

Novice - 3 accounts.
Sponsor - 10 accounts (so 1 sponsor, 9 novices, so 2 sponsors = 20 accounts).

I'm not sure about the number of accounts when your sponsor is returned to a novice account, since I've never had that problem. I imagine you're expected to only use 3.
