Can novices event train statmaxxed horses?

Ok, so I've heard that novices can train as good as sponcers on horses who's stats are over 200. Does this mean that a novice can event train a statmaxxed horse? Also, what bonuses are helpful?

Yes, novices can tweak a horse just as well as a sponsor. :] The only problem comes in when horses need to be trained differently from just stat maxing from the beginning, like for racing for gaited for example, which both require speed laps from the beginning to get speed high enough. For tweaking, you'll need tenacious trainer + whatever breed type bonus for the horse you're working on. So... show horses = show offs, gaited = gallantly gaited. Longevity also helps a lot, too (sometimes, when it decides not to be an evil cow c___c).
