Welcome to the Long Road Home. The Long Road Home is an adult-run enterprise, whose main goals
are to be courteous and helpful, and to have fun. The Long Road Home believes that the only
stupid question is the one that is not asked, so feel free to message me for advice, or to
answer any questions you may have. I will do my best to answer any queries you have.
Ranch Projects
Here at the Long Road Home ranch, there are currently six projects in action. These projects
range from the mundane, to the downright bizarre.
Purebred Quarterhorses
All purebred quarterhorses bred at the Long Road Home have a Star Wars:
Clone Wars associated name. The foundation horses are Clone Commander and Clone Wars. The
foundy x foundy generation are all named after Clone Commanders, from movies, books, and the
new TV show. Their names follow the format "Commander" "name".
Other purebred horses will be introduced into this line in an effort to avoid inbreeding. I am
sorry, but I will not sell any of my Commander horses. They will be available for stud and
brood after they are stat-maxed and rolled.
Racing Stock Horses
The Long Road Home has a stable full of successful sprint racing horses.
These horses will be made available for stud and brood after finishing their racing careers.
The training method that the Long Road Home uses was independently pioneered and tested, and may differ from other training
methods.
While other racehorse owners consider black horses to be unlucky, the Long Road Home specializes in black racehorses, because
they've been good luck for the ranch so far.
Bronco Mustangs
The Long Road Home breeds and trains bronco horses, specialising in
mustangs. One of the Long Road Home's bronco mustangs has over $23 million in earnings, and is
still winning.
Tallest Minis
The Long Road Home is trying to breed the tallest miniatures. This project is pure whimsy. There's no
real reason to breed giant miniatures, other than for something fun to do. The tallest mini currently at The Long Road Home
is Twilight Spec, standing at 10.6 hands.
The Long Road Home is proud to announce a Miniature Breeding partnership with battle b! Our aim is to produce high
quality Miniatures, with good stats, and even competition winners!
Halter Showmanship
The Long Road Home has just started showing in Halter Showmanship, and is
having great success with it. This plan began with a couple of below BC foals of show type,
and has now expanded to ponies as well.
Long Road Home Miracle Makeover
This project began a long time ago, and involves scouring the market for
cheap horses that are below BC, under the age of 0.5, and preferably sterile. After purchasing
the horse, it is cured, vaccinated, and then trained for an event it may be suitable for.
These horses are then put back on the market, only a little more expensive than they were as
untrained horses, available for prices a new player is capable of affording, and hopefully
ready to win.
Learn By Doing Project
The Long Road Home's Learn By Doing project focuses on learning to train horses for a new discipline.
Using training guides published by experienced trainers for the discipline, and a reasonably priced non-BC foal of a correct
type for the event, the foal is trained in the discipline following the instructions. With it's training complete, the horse
is competed in the event it was trained for to see how it does. If it's successful, the Long Road Home ranch goes on to use
these new skills in the Long Road Home Miracle Makeover project.
