New eventing rules and dressage question

Postby matislia » Wed Sep 14, 2011 5:43 pm

I feel like a complete idiot attempting to event now. I was not on for quite awhile and came back to the change. I'm having difficulty understanding what is going on and how to event properly now. Mainly for dressage. Could someone point me in the right direction? I've looked through posts, found what I could, but am just not understanding. :sob:

My biggest question is how do I event my older dressage horses now? Or is that even feasible?

I'll even pay for assistance if someone can give me a clear, concise answer/explanation.

Thanks for looking and, hopefully, answering.

You aren't going to see a really young horse in the higher groups because it just won't have the number of events under it's belt to get the higher competition score. I honestly think it does even out in the end. There will be times where your horse gets eaten by the other competition e.g. my Spanish TB is younger than the other horses in her group and they are beating her left right and center. But once they move off into the next group she will be at the top and beating the younger ones. W/P/S is going to be lower than what it was previously and getting a 100 million earner isn't even possible so far (I think?) In my opinion making this system is going to be more challenging, which is just what the game needs

I don't know if I explained it very well, but I tried

Eventing an older horse (over 15 years, even 14 years) is going to be nearly impossible for them to do well in Dressage unfortunately. But you could look into other events such as Vaulting, which has an older opt. age. You can also look into other events that have older opt. ages that focus on intelligence and strength, and create Wb-only events. I will be looking into that eventually and trying to round up a crowd of eventers :)
