Mailbox Error?

I'm not sure if it's just something I did, or if my forum mailbox is a little off.

It started out by not telling me I had new messages, and then once I realized I did (3)... I keep getting messages that say "This message has been removed by its author before it was delivered. " I deleted the message once, and it popped back up as unread. I didn't even know you could delete a message while it's being delivered, and I'm not sure why it would say (0 new messages) if I have new messages.

If someone sends you a message, but before you click it to read, they go into their outbox, they can delete it. It will still show you were delivered a message though.

Oh I never knew that, and as far as the mailbox not alerting me with new messages? Because as of just a second ago, I had unread messages and it still said "0 new messages".

Are they actual messages? Or deleted ones?

Go under the user control panel, then Board Preferences and make sure the "Notify me on new private messages:" is marked

It was checked, but it seems to be working now. I was just suprised when I went in my inbox, and saw messages I didn't know were there. I'm thinking maybe I bumped the new messages button on mobile, which just made the alert go away?
