We took away the ability to edit vent posts because a while back there were a number of players who would purposely name someone/be explicit/inappropriate/etc in the Vent section, and by the time an Op was notified of any problems, the poster had gone back and changed every single one of their threads, to ensure they didn't look guilty.
Might have been tolerable if it had only been an occassional incident, but it wasn't. So the ability to edit threads was taken away, so players who post must take full responsibility of anything they post, instead of dodging getting in trouble by the time an Op realised there was something wrong.
