I have a few questions about the stats when you freeze semen. Say you freeze 1 semen when your stud is 3.45 years old and his stats are something like... su/am/fa/ex and then you sell him and the person rolls him and his stats get better, would it be his current stats the foal would get, or the stats he had when it was frozen?

Another question. Say the owner retires him, would the semen be removed from your freezer, or would it stay there?

How long does the semen last in your freezer? Does it stay valid for your VHR ranch forever?

The stats are when the horse it bred. For example, if you freeze a horses semen at 5 y.o. and then train him, roll him and sell him then you will get a better foal if you breed him when he is 30 compared to 5. It goes by the stats he has when you breed him. As far as I know semen stays in your freezer forever. And yes, even though a horse gets retired you still have the semen. (I've done this a few times, I'll train him till he retires so the semen is worth more.)

The only time the stud's stats matter is at the time of birth of the foal. It doesn't matter when the mare was bred or when the stud was bred. The turn the foal is born, the game looks at mare and stud current stats at that time to get the foal's stats. So you can breed (including with semen straws) a mare when the stud is 3 and then age, train, roll the stud to 33, even retire the stud, and the foal will take the stats of the stud wherever or what age or what his stats are right then.

Straws don't disappear when a stud is retired.

The only way to make semen straws go away is to delete them, in which case, they return to the stud, whether you own him or not. Otherwise, they are yours forever.
