So what are you doing in the Olympics?

Postby Karebear » Wed Jan 05, 2011 10:55 am

What disciplines are people thinking about doing? I think I'm being a bit over-ambitious... the plan is to have 61 horses over 15 disciplines (5 in polo) - we'll have to wait and see how this theory pans out .

My list goes:

Classical Dressage - Descendant of Mister Ed *edit* Now using Lippizaners =P
Showmanship - Flaming Aethiops
Bronco - Grade Ferril AAA
Track - TB
Endy - Arab
Hunter - DoMoW
Steeple - TB
FH - TB
Inhand Jumping - Exmoor
Handy Pony - Grade Pony AAA
Polo - Horse of Samurai
Dressage - East Friesians
Team Dressage - English Royal Warhorse (yet-to-arrive PB ^^)
Showjumping - East Friesian
3 Day Eventing - Unicorn of Huang Di

I'm thinking of doing British Royal Mount and Eiffel Warmblood SJers, then possiblyyy a team of Grades in polo. Hrm! I'm putting of finding horses to enter and register though >.> Do they have to be trained to register?

Well, I'm pretty sure I'm still going crazy. But at least i know I'm not having thread hallucinations

Well, for anyone who didn't see the other thread,
I'm totes entering all the pony and drafty events, as well as Bronco. I'm super excited about polo, because it seems like many of my friends are entering it. Will be epically fun to see how they end up running the polo events.
May also enter 3DE, dressy, halter, SJ/hunters, barrels, keyhole, reining... just depends on if I have time.

Thanks for saying that! I was curious about where that post went too... I'll re-post my list just to keep everything straight:

Definite events and what breeds I'm using:

3DE: a Companion of Valdemar
Dressage: a Holsteiner
Classical Dressage: a Flaming Aethiops
Endurance: a Horse of Rohan
Foxhunting: a Descendant of Secretariat, an ECH and two TBs
Hunter Jumping: two TBs
Show Jumping: a Guardian Kirin
Steeplechase: two TBs
Team Dressage: a pair of Trakehners
Track Racing: three TBs
Vaulting: a Shire and a Suffolk

Possible events (no idea on the breeds for these events yet) :
Halter
Jousting

Edited... several times. ^^;

EDITED again to add team Dressage to the 'definite' list. And Steeplechasing too. ^^

Ooh I'm so excited! Looks like there is going to be healthy competition ^^.

I just had to change my plans a bit... I'm now going to be using Lippizaners in Classical Dressage not Mister Ed's, there are like no reasonably priced Ed studs >:(
