With 100% in horsemanship and !00% in sport training and training a horse in halter and using gaited surefoot is only .02+. Seems to me it should be around .3+.

Well, English skill is the one to do with training in gaited.

Well, the glitch could be me as I thought that if you had 100% in a training skill that the values would apply. You have to have 100% in ALL the skills for the values to apply!!! I went to my training ranch where I have all the skills and in gaited the value is .3+.
I was hoping to be able to diversify without having to change my horses all over the place :? :(

Horsemanship affects Obstacle training and breaking in - not that anyone needs that these days.

English Training skill affects "Arena: basic work, Dressage", "Gaited/pleasure training", "Halter Activities", and "Arena: jumping".

Sport Training affects "Speed lap on track", "Trailride: Cross Country", "Track: endurance" and "Polo & field practice".

Driving Training affects "Driving & Harness work".

Western Training affects "Arena: Enrage" (I think), "Arena: Western" and "Cattle work".

You need to have the right skill for what you want to train in, when the horse has less than 200 in intel/strength/speed or endurance, or you want to raise SF/Movement.

Once the horse is stat maxed, training skills don't matter anymore.

As Mythara said, the correct skill affects the training... You did not have English skill, therefor training gaited wouldn't reach its full potential.
