Horse won't fully sedate?

Hey!

My classical dressage horse won't fully sedate/mellow out according to the trial events page. It stays at a score of -14.335 instead of dropping to a -5 in hyperness.

Every time I try tranqing, it says "The horse is plenty mellow enough, and you it is against your judgment to apply a tranquilizer". I've tried exhausting the horse, changing diets, etc, and nothing is working :/

Thanks!

Do you have others of the breed that reach that low? If so, try looking at their stats to see if there's a difference. I tested a different breed and the lowest I could get was -84. It may also depend on what you are training in.

I have another classical dressage friesian that is currently at -5, so unless that one's the bug I should be able to get lower :P

If it helps I'm training in halter activities 6x per turn :)

[Edit]: The only difference between the two is their quirk, one is red ribbon (-5 hyperness) and the other is stubborn (-14ish hyperness)

Try boosting it once, then sedating?

Mething and tranqing worked- took a few tries though! Thanks for your help :)

You're welcome.

Thought I remembered that once a horse gets below a certain point, it won't let you mellow it any more with shots, so to get it lower, you have to first bring it above that point. For instance, if a sedation will take a horse down at least 20 points, if the horse has less than 20, it won't let you use it. You have to bring it back up above 20. Happens so seldom, I forgot. I knew there was something that was coded, but could not remember what it was.
