Driving NPC riders:

All 4 of my horses in National Marathon Driving had NPC driving riders and none placed above 7th. All of my NPCs are at 127 skills.

Could have just been the breeds I was using but it seems weird to me that out of the 5 horses with NPC riders they never placed above 7th. 6th and higher where all self riders.

Driving riding skills should be the same as the NPC, but Ive always used myself as a rider with the Driving riding skill. As far as I knew Nef made the 127 NPC and the player with riding skills equal with one of the recent past updates.

I'll mention it to Nef when I see her and have her double check it :)

Thank you.

I'm going to run them in events again with myself and driving skills to see if it is the horses or the riders. Can't hurt to check.

I checked and it is not the rider vs skill. They are both scoring the same in events.

It may say they are scoring the same but there is no way they are. I changed all my horses to myself riding them with skills and they all placed a lot better. Yet the single horse with the NPC rider got all last place. And before it kept swapping places with mine when they had NPC riders.

I did a test myself a few weeks (two I think) back with my horse :

and it seemed that he always placed better with skill than he did NPC.

Yes, they are scoring the same. I used the same page Nef does to check the given score, and it does not matter if it's skill or npc, both on ALL horses are getting the exact same points awarded.

It is other factors making up the point differences, such as random factor, build and natural birth stats.

I'm sorry I just don't believe that random factors will cause the same horse to place dead last in 56 events. Or cause my Suffolk to place under 7th for 56 events then start placing top 5 50 times out of 56 events. There is something else going on besides random factors. Random factors don't make that big of a jump or cause the same horse to place dead last. At least the random factors should have placed that horse above 10th place at least once out of 56 events.

You might want to read Hawk's post more carefully and/or compare your horses with the others in the events, it's not just random factors on your horses. NPC and Driving skill are scoring exactly the same, that is not why your horses are losing.

Had Nef go through and double check, and again it is not the NPC vs Skill. If the horse has the correct 127 trained NPC, or the player has the right 100% riding skill with self riding, they are getting the exact same score. If they have a 127 rider but it's the wrong type, say western on a driver, then get 1/5th the score. If they self ride and have the wrong riding skill or no riding skill, then they score 0 in that part.

So again, it is a combination of the other factors I stated above, random, build, natural stats. If they had the correct riders or skill.
