Some conformation events just ran and I noticed that horses with scores above 29 were coming out with scores from 20-21 in one event. It only happened in the one event but I'm kind of wondering what happened. I'm wondering if it's just Confy getting bit by randomness every blue moon or something.

I've noticed random score fluctuation in other events as well. I'm not sure if there's a known cause for it or not.

For example, this gaited horse of mine...generally scores anywhere from 80 to 95, but there was a random event where scores were in the 70s: http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/events ... ent=252386

And sometimes the opposite will happen, like on this horse, again usually scores in the 80s or 90s, there were a handful of events where scores were up over 100: http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/events ... ent=205152

To my knowledge, there is a chance of randomness in every event. It's the reason Draggy's Annie doesn't have a perfect record in Confo.

I will admit, I haven't paid attention to it closely for a long while, and can't remember if I've seen if affect an entire event before, or if it only affects single horses

Looking at examples posted, I suspect the randomness affects all the horses in an event.

Every event has a possibility of being random and every horse has a possibility of placing randomly. When an event or horse goes random, you can tell because the scores will suddenly be way off the normal. Confy is easier to spot because the scores never change, unless the event or horses were random. Most people don't pay as much attention to the scores in any event except confy.

Entire events being random don't happen very often. It's easy to see in Confy if it was horse or the event itself because of the scores. Usually, it is a horse or horses in an event that are random, which throws everyone into different than usual placings. A random event will put all the horses' scores differently, though not necessarily in an unusual order.
