No Bit?

I was getting this horse ready to event and was in the process of tacking her up when I noticed something strange. Even though I had ten bits in my inventory, I couldn't put one on her-- the section where the "choose bit" option usually was was completely blank. I thought that it may be my account so I sent her over to the player eventing her for me but she has run into the same problem. This hasn't been an issue on any of my other horses-- I've been able to fully tack them with no problems. Does anybody know what's going on?

I do. I have both curbs and snaffles, though what I remember is that snaffles are used for driving.

As a Driving horse, all the tack it needs is a harness and whip. No bits or bridles to worry about
