Age penalty not working

I just ran some u7 halter showmanship events, and the age penalty for horses that are too old didn't seem to be working. One of the horses was age 7.05 when I ran them, but still placed at least once, and did not end at the very bottom which it should have.

I did notice it was too old before running the events, but didn't think much of it, as previously the age penalty has worked just fine for showmanship, and any horse too old have ended last no matter how well trained, and with a heavy penalty.

So, just a heads up that it may not be working as it should. Below are some of the events, the horse is @The Raven@.

The penalty does not automatically disqualify the horses, it adds a penalty for each turn over the age restriction it is. A horse that's only a turn over the age has less chance to win than if it was under the age restriction, but it doesn't mean it won't win. The further over age a horse is, the lower its placings will be. A horse that's half a year over age, should never win unless it's a random event. That's why in those four events, it only won one of the events and placed in one.

If you look through that horse's event history, you can probably see the set of events it ran in over age. It was placing a lot in the top five places, then in the last 15 or so events, most of it's placings are in the lower half of the field, with a few in the top.

Thanks for explaining that. I always thought it was a set penalty for any horse over the restricted age, no matter how much over. This does make sense though.
