Horse not available for contract?

I have a horse in one of my accounts that does not appear on my Contracts list, so I can't contract him over to a showing account. I've tried signing out and back in....and I double-checked that I DO own him and he's not leased to me.

He was at stud at another ranch, but not now... someone PM'd me to wait a few hours and try, so I'll do that and see what happens.
