Not gaining bonus skills?

I'm breeding horses together, and my skill level isn't budging at all. I bred the horse - nothing - and birthed the foal - still nothing.

Am I just going about this the wrong way, or is there something afoot?

*bonuses, not sponsor skills lol. ^^

Now I'm gaining points when I breed, but not when I birth the foal. x.x

As far as I know, there are no bonuses to foaling, only to the breeding end of it.

Really? I thought I remembered reading that people got points for foaling as well. O.o

Oh well haha, at least there's nothing up. That's good.
