Question about the Vials [My Results In]

Postby Dawn442 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:22 am

Something I'm curious about..lol

Has it been determined definitively, that if one saves a vial, then rolls the Stally to 33, that those are the stats that the foal will be born with? Or, is it the stats of the Stally at the time of collection..?

It's the stats of the stally at the time of foaling. Just like the old way of breeding, then rolling to 33, then foaling.

This is what is says when you freeze: You may use it at any time and it will use the current stud's stats for it's offspring.

To me that means whatever the stud's current stats right now are is what the offspring will be based on.

Rising did a breeding experiment and said that it was the stud's stats at the time of the breeding. So even if you breed and roll then foal, the stats used will be the ones at the time of breeding...not at the time of foaling.

That sounds to me, that it would be the studs stats at time of collection.. lol

I think I'll just have to experiment with it on a grade stud.

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

8) :) No probs- it just bugs me ;)

Umm, I think that it may go from the stallions current stats. :)

Hmm, sure seems to be differing opinions on this..lol

I think I'll just have to experiment for myself. =)

I think another experiment would be the best way to find out. Unless you get conflicting results from Rising's. Then a third person should hold an experiment.

Ok, I will try this and post results here. =)

But I'm not doing this today.. >.>

I'll breed him at different ages, not touch the mare, and will post the resulting foals and the age and stats the stud was at, at the time of breeding. Then I'll save a few "straws", and breed a couple more times before he hits 33.

Does this sound like it will be a good way to judge the effects..?

Anyone know what happens to the semen if you age the stallion past 33 then use it? Just curious :D

You can't age the stallion past 33. They automatically go to the Retirement Centre at 33. =)
