When to Roll?

Currently, I train horses by first stat-maxing them, then levelingng, then attempting rolling.

Does anyone know whether it's best to roll this way or if you should try and roll after statmaxing but before leveling.

The way I train:
train obsticle until 2.5 years
specialise in halter and train gaited to max surefoot and movement
specialise
max inteligence
max speed
max endurance
(stregth usually maxed anyway)
level
attempt rolling

Please somebody give some advice!

It depends on exactly what I'm trying to roll.

I know I don't roll an arab quad (okay, triple extro/inco) by stat-maxing it. Same goes for TBs and quadding - and paints, for that matter.

On the other hand, if I'm looking for a competition horse and want to get decent stats fast and THEN roll... well, I stat-max first.

I'm fairly new to sponsor training and was under the impression that in order to roll all stats had to to be at least (200). Can you roll without this being the case? If so, what do you do differently?

I don't really work with any of these breeds (although I do own one of each).

Stats do not have to be over 200 to roll, but I think they roll faster if they are over 200.

Yes, I have had horses in the past roll a stat during training before they were fully stat maxed. I'm just not sure how to do this deliberately. I still have a lot to figure out when it comes to rolling.

So, any thoughts on which order rolling and leveling should go in?

I always roll my paints and vladimir heavy drafts after stat maxing.

As for order, I work on the lowest stats first, that way the horse doesnt have, say, three extraordinarys (or higher) and then on extremely good or Supurb. I'd rather see a horse with 2 fantastics and 2 extraordinaries then 3 extra.s and an EG

Stats roll in this way:

Lowest stat if all stats are over 200 rolls the fastest - 7-16 turns for 1%
Highest stat over 200 rolls next fastest - 10-25 turns for 1%
Lowest stat below 200 rolls the slowest - 20-35 turns for 1%

Because stats roll faster once they're over 200, I don't bother trying to roll stats until they're over 200. If they roll while I'm training the actual stat up, that's fantastic, but I'm not going out of my way to try for that.

Also remember, both the highest and the lowest (actual) stats will roll, so you can roll two stats at once.

That's basically all you have to know about stat-rolling. The rest is strategy, which you can easily figure out for yourself. :wink:

Horses are only able to start rolling after the total of the 4 stats add up to more than 450, when the blue message appears

if the horse is to compete and Statmax and level but try to keep all stats except Endurance pretty close to eachother so its easier once I want to roll them and I also set it up so that while I event the horse I can train once per turn and work the whatever stat I want to improve
if its just to be rolled I statmax it and roll like a maniac :D

If you're not competeing then keep endurance close to the other stats and don't max it. As that way you can chose which stat to make the highest. As that's what I'm doing with the hanos. I make the strength the highest (which will drop 1% per 20 turns) and intel the lowest (which will drop by 2%). That way I can increase the birth stats.
