I don't think it's possible to take them out but I've done this before and two of my friends bid a lot until the price when really really high and then I bought the horse back from them for what they paid for it. You'll loose some money but you'll get your horse back if it's really important.

I usually log of the account I entered it in and switch between my other two accounts and bid on the horse until I get the price high enough that I don't think anyone will bid on it, or if they do I'll have enough cash where I won't care.

You do realize this is against the rules? You cannot use another account to benefit the other, nor can you purposely inflate bids on horses. I'm surprised the game didn't catch it and ban you as it does others.

Once a horse is in the auction, unless a friend manages to get high bid on it, there is no way to get the horse back.

No, I didn't. I figured as long as theirs no actual cash transfer, it's ok. I never actually transfer the horse. I always wait until time runs out and hit reclaim horse. From now on I'll just find someone else to bid on it talk to the owner about buying it back.
