What does birth cap mean? Can someone please explain this ?

Also, sponsors breed and the foals come out at 95% and novices 90%. What does the actual % mean?

Don't want to come across looking like an idiot, but you know, ahh well.

Birth cap is the highest a foal of that breed can reach or has reached in the past. Sponsors get a 5% bonus on foals born on their ranch, that's the difference in them. Sponsor born foals have a head start on training, you might say.
