Stupid question, BUT

Have a technical question you can't find the answer to in FAQ's? Ask it here. Game problem questions that do NOT pertain to things like training advice, what would my horse do well in, how much is it worth.

Stupid question, BUT

What are confy horses?
I have never fully understood what they are. Can someone explain and maybe give examples?
Thanks a bunch!

A "confy" horse means conformation. They are horses bred for perfect conformation. If you click on the breed on any horse, it gives you a basic description of the breed "ideal". Conformation horses strive to match the ideal as closely as possible.

One question. I've noticed that some the high winners have been trained up to 200 scores. Are these trained for better scores, or simply for other purposes, like rolling or such?

They can be. There's some pretty good horses out there that aren't trained at all

I love whipping this mare out. :)

My first confy champion and indeed the first real consistent confy champion in the game was this gal: http://www.virtualhorseranch.com/viewho ... orse=19870

I never trained her except to break her in, because training can sometimes negatively affect their scores...i.e., if a stat is perfect for the breed standard and then it rolls in training their score is dead meat.

Part of getting the best conformed horse possible often seems to be through heignous inbreeding. Check out Beaut's pedigree...holy cow is she violently inbred! All of those ancestors of hers were untrained and inbred too...it's like the family tree that does not fork! :D

Breeding confy horses can be tough. Hound and I slaughtered everyone with our National Show Horses for a while...ignore Beaut's winnings, this was back when a million-dollar-earner was rare and amazing, like a 100-mil earner would be today. I've since tried twice to breed a line of confies on my own...donkeys and then Kerry Bog Ponies. Neither line ended up working out well.
