Being a novice, what are the best ways to raise my levels?
Does buying, trialling and releasing or retiring horses give you exp. points?

Please let me know, as I want my horses to do the best they can in eventing.

I don't know if the trialing does anything for personal levels. (I'm assuming you mean the experience we get now for the bonuses)
But something that should work is to just train
I advised a friend of mine, a novice, to purchase an inexpensive arab (they have the best endy for training, lol) and to just train it until it hit 33 or whatever age it is that they are taken off of your ranch at
The horse will be ruined of course because training on a novice account makes it almost impossible to get a horse properly maxed before it's past breeding age but it'll bring up your exp. level
I know that she made it to 11 with one horse
Anywho, goodluck with getting your levels up
