Completely Confused :D

Postby kaitlyn_w » Fri Jan 11, 2008 4:29 am

I entered my horse in a trail event (trail not trial lol)
She came 8th. I was not expecting anything huge. But i was comparing her stats to the horse that won and im really confused.
Her-
Mood: Very Mellow
Surefoot: 225.12%
Strenght: 199% (202.5) (Extraordinary)
Intelligence: 195% (202.32) (Extraordinary)
Speed: 186% (201.87) (Amazing)
Endurance: 208% (209) (Extraordinary)
Disciplines: 200/150

Other Horse-
Mood: Hyper
Surefoot: 203.031%
Strenght: 218% (202.5) (Supurb!)
Intelligence: 208% (200.93) (Fantastic!
Speed: 213% (200.5) (Supurb!)
Endurance: 232% (202.14) (Extremely good)
Disciplines: Hidden

My horse is a stock type so she should get a bonus. other horse is sport.
My mare also has an NPC, Full quality tack...

I cant understand why this horse beat her....Can someone please point out where i am missing the point??

a fluke, whats your horses personality? can affect things, all in all if you enter roughly 10-20 events you get a better view of her as an eventer,
also horses dont do to well in the first 1-5 events or so, beginner nervousness you know ;)

I thought that any thing below 0% for hyperness meant the horse needs to be calmed down.. Anything above the horse need to be meth.

Yeah -3 is supposed to be mellow but it seems to act like +3 in trail. If you keep your horse mellow in trail, they will spook and misbehave every time and give you major score penalties. If you meth them to -660 they do fine. I know it seems nuts but it works. This only applies to trail though so perhaps it's a bug/error.

You may be right because she keeps getting penalties for spooking and not standing still...queer...

Marco- my mare is 15.7yo and i think (keyword being think lol) the other horse was 13?? Not sure on that one.

I've shown trail horses for...almost two years. They must be methed.

Not to mention, the placings are almost totally random. :) Just barely maxed horses beat my horses with 204/203 stats all the time. I just learn to live with it. ;)

If you are getting penalties, the horse needs to be more hyper, regardless of what the (totally incorrect) trial events say. Also contrary to the trial, horses do BEST between 8-12 years of age. Mine got about dead last every time after I showed them past around fourteen. Showing against the same quality/worse quality horses. The younger ones always won, regardless of training.
