Keeping a horse based on stats

Postby tennarab » Sat Feb 16, 2008 8:06 am

I have a whack of Arabs, most with not that good stats, and was wanting to reduce them. I get really frustrated that their stats are so hard to move so my question is, taking this girl, age 9.6 as an example:
Sure-footedness: 215.8%
Strength/natural:
(potential): 260% (200.28)
(Good)
Intelligence/natural:
(potential): 261% (200.43)
(Good)
Speed/natural:
(potential): 204% (200.93)
(Fantastic!)
Endurance/natural:
(potential): 167% (212)
(Inconceivable)
She hasn't done well and I don't imagine would throw good foals even bred to the best of stallions. Sooo, should I retire her and others like her?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ummm, how come the smiley shows up beside strenght??
I try to keep disc at 198 too and she is shod for surefoot.

Try rolling her up a bit and breeding her to a quad arab. She might throw bc foals, if not just release her.

The smilie shoes up because 8 next to ) = 8) just like : next to ) = :)

If she's rolled up a little and bred to a quad stud, as Mythara said, I imagine she'd throw BC foals. She really only needs Strength and Intell rolled, which should do so at 245% I believe.

I'd say roll her and breed her. It just seems like a waste to Retire a mare that's already trained when you can just roll and breed her. :D

Thanks for the replies but I was sort of thinking along other lines than foals. With her 2 'good' stats she wouldn't compete well would she? even tho they won't roll before she is too old to compete? so if I have a horse that is so low to begin I shouldn't try to do anything with it??
Thanks.
Sorry not explaining well.

Her stats probably aren't good enough for eventing, and her stats aren't right for eventing in endurance either, but her foals should be fine. =) If you don't want her, you could always give her away to a novice help ranch. :D
