I think that even if you'd take the semen at like age 3 and then train and roll the horse until its 33 it will be the stats that are the current stats (e.g. at tage 33 if the semen is used then) that will influence the foal. Only used it once so far and the foal had two stats higher than when I breed to the stud just before it turned 23. And also, if the game was to "remember" what stats that stud had at the time for taking the semen every piece of it would be like another horse on the game and that should slow the game down.

Okies..

I tested this out, and here is how it went.. =)

I bought 0.1 yr old QH mare off the market, with not so good stats.

I also bought a QH stud off the market with not so good stats.

I never touched the mares training at all. ll I did, was vaccinate her, and turn her till she was old enough to breed and turned her to foal her out.

Her stats:

Strength: 90/92.96 Supurb
Intel: 90/74.06 Very Good
Speed: 90/85.65 Fantastic
End.: 90/79.47 Extremely Good

The Studs starting stats:
Strength: 90/82.23 Supurb
Intel: 90/73.78 Very Good
Speed: 90/83.96 Supurb
End.: 90/79.02 Extremely Good

I bred him at 4 year intervals and let him sit in the pasture till she foaled out. His first foal was born when he was 4 yrs old.

From this, it looks like his best statted foal was born when he was 28 yrs old. I'm also going to assume that the foal is born with the stats of the stallion, at the time of foaling.

Btw, I saved all my straws when he was 20 yrs old.

One more thing about the straws I found out, they can be saved at any age of the stallion! Even when he's "too old to breed". This has got to be a bug.. o.o

You should mention this on the Bugs list in Games Suggestions. That seems like a pretty big bug to me. Did you click the button to see if it would actually allow you to take the sample or was it just still on the stud's page.

As to your findings, I guess now I'm curious enough to try it out on one of my horses.

I did report it in the "report bugs" section, and yes, it did show up in the freezer. lol

I think it would be good to get another opinion on this, so yes, Freedom, you should try this too. ^^
