a winning gene???

a winning gene???

I was wondering if there are 'winner' genes randomly (and rarely) handed out to the foals that are born. That is to say, every so often a horse is born that, with good training, is destined to do well in its career.

I mostly enter horses into endurance races and it seems like every so often one particular horse racks up tons of earnings even though its stats are similar, if not less than, its peers.

I'm afraid not.
Endurance has been a little shakey lately, a lot of events are messed up.

Alot of events are messed up. You get good bloodline genes, no winning genes. A horse does well with correct training & eventing. I have had horses come from horses that have won nothing, to win 20-30million+. Its all in the training to be honest.

ah it would be nice if there was more overlap between the horse's stats and the amount of times it won.

I still believe there is a certain bit of luck involved; because in the end most of us are training our horses for an event using the same methods (with some variations)

Its taken me ages just to get a 6 million dollar winner!
