Help with forum code?

Okay, I want to be able to type a horses name and link it to that horse directly, someone help me here. I learned how to do this on another forum layout but I dont see the same stuff on here to do it. I see URL and thought that would do it but I dont know how. I'm slow with computers/internet stuff so someone break it down for me.
