Endurance Racing - HELP!!

Hey I've entered my Arabian horse in two endurance events, and even though her stats are all over 200 she keeps getting pulled at a checkpoint. The horses who did up to 4 places better than her have much lower stats (ie str: 120, int: 84, spd: 137, end: 195 for the one that was two places above me). Does anyone know why this is happening?? The mare is trained in halter (needs to be endy) and way past the optimum age. Also if you have a look at the horses that are winning their stats are much much higher. I think that horse of yours was originally trained for endurance, but then someone had her rolled for breeding. She honestly won't do any good at eventing, unless it's gym which is 100% random
