Purebred horses

In game is a purebred horse one that was bred solely from foundie lines in that breed?

Or is it a horse with 'x' number of generations that are the same breed?

Most people [in fact, almost all] consider horses to be pure only if they have the same breed all the way back to the foundation horses.

Thanks for the quick reply. :)

So if you wanted a color other than what would normally show up in a foundation line.. then you would have to purchase the color for one of your foundies in order to incorporate it into your line and still keep it pure?

Yes, you would have to buy a dye and dye your horse with it before breeding. That's the only way to get a new color except in a few very select breeds.

Just remember you cannot purchase colours that already exist ;)
