I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand. (Bonuses)

Have a technical question you can't find the answer to in FAQ's? Ask it here. Game problem questions that do NOT pertain to things like training advice, what would my horse do well in, how much is it worth.

I know cool competitor was removed and replaced with Rolling Rodeo.

Does this mean there are now NO BONUSES REQUIRED to do well in an event?

Ex.

Before you would need Mighty and Mountless, Magically Mighty and Fit and Fearless to event in Halter, as well as showoffs.

Now, you need none of that?

I know when I get the answer I'm going to do a facepalm.... this is what I get for not playing for almost 6 months.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply..

Okay, so I think that makes sense.

Just one more question (sorry!)

Now that Cool Competitor is removed/replaced, how would those bonuses help?

Ex.
Cool Competitor:
* Proud and Proper: 1% bonus in Dressage, Jumping, Eventing,
* Rustic and Relentless:1% bonus in Western, Bronco
* Savy and Scrappy : 1% bonus in Racing, Sporting Events and Gaited events
* Mighty and Mountless: 1% bonus in halter and driving events
* Magically Mighty: your horses have +1 strength in competitions
* Teh Smarts: your horses have +1 int in competitions
* Fit and Fearless: your horses have +1 endurence in competitions
* Speediest: your horses have +1 speed in competitions
* Grace and Glory: your horses have +1 movement and surefoot in competitions
* Wholesome Warmbloods: Warmblood horses have 2% speed in events
* Stocky Steeds: Stock horses have 2% more endurence in events
* Pwning Ponies: Ponies seem 1 hand taller in events
* Gallantly Gaited: Gaited horses are 2% smarter in events
* Sporty Sort: Sport horses are 2% smarter in events
* Big'uns: Draft horses are 2% faster in events
* Wild Wides : Feral Horses are 2% stronger in evnets
* Showoffs: Show horses are 2% stronger in events

Since there is no more Cool Competitor, these combinations are now rendered impossible, correct?

Are you saying that because I have (we'll go with your example)
Grace And Glory
Proud and Proper
Magically Mighty
Teh Smarts
Wholesome Warmbloods
And I'm eventing in dressage, theoretically, my horses should do well because they have the bonus, even though Cool competitor no longer exists?

Competition bonuses do not work, period. There are no bonuses for competing. Where the bonuses come in is in training and breeding. For example,
Fit and Fearless: When training, end cap is .25% higher
meaning that if you have fit and fearless as a training bonus, your horses endurance can be .25% higher than the cap, which is good in events since most events have endurance capped. But it's not a competition bonus.

Ah, okay. Makes sense.

So the bonuses are for the training of the horse, and do nothing whatsoever to the competing... except for the fact that the stat values are higher quicker.

Thanks Bama, thanks Aniara
