Movement/SF Cap

Have a technical question you can't find the answer to in FAQ's? Ask it here. Game problem questions that do NOT pertain to things like training advice, what would my horse do well in, how much is it worth.

Weighted shoes will boost movement 5 or 10 (don't remember which), I don't believe that it appears in the horse's stats as having gone up, but when you switch them to something else it will drop movement down to 205 or 210. Corrective shoes will do the same thing, boosting the surefoot with no apparent effect then drop it below the cap if you switch the shoes to something else. Protective shoes do the same, I'd assume.

Sorry, I never actually noticed they were called "Weighted shoes", due to my laziness and idiocy, I didn't check. So it doesn't make a difference, then? That's sort of interesting because in dressage, it appears to boost the movement a little bit?

I dun think so; but to be honest I'd never dream on testing the theory out XD

I use weighted shoes for dressage and my horses do the same as with draft.I can post links if anyone would like to see :)

I sort of stole your idea, combining with a little accident of my own  It does work well, and that is exactly why I posted this thread xD

I do apologize if you don't appreciate my stealing :giggle: But I am a bit curious as to why they do the same/better if the weighted shoes aren't affecting movement at all...

Maybe they give a hidden bonus.
If you check a horse in trials with weighted & draft shoes, you'll see that movement is affected altough it doesn't appear in the horse's page. :)

Definitely, that's where my accident came in xD I shoed the horse with weighted shoes by accident, and I thought the horse must be really good since it was getting in the upper 175's and 176's. Then, I looked at the horse's page and realized they were gaited shoes and tried draft, which didn't work as well... so, I guess there is a hidden bonus :D

Agh, I want to try it now, but I hate those shoes soooooooooo much, I just can't bring myself to..
Although it would make the training go faster...
