What makes a good horse?

Ive been looking around, but I cant seem to figure out what makes a good horse a good horse. I have some statmaxed horses, I enter them in competitions, and they loose all the time. Can someone explain this to me?

For eventing, you horse needs to be event trained. Different events need different training - For example, Dressage horses need high Intel, high strength and no speed, Race horses need high speed, good strength and no intel. It all depends on the event you want to do. Try having a look at completed events, and see what stats the winning horses have.
