The Breeders Guide- Secrets on the artificial genetics of a horse

To read how to breed and the basics on breeding, please see the help files. In this article I am going to summarize what I have named Artificial Genetics. And this game is very complex in this matter on the math/programming end- It is my pet artificial genetic program! I am not telling players the actual make up of them, but summarizing some interesting things.
When you cross two different breeds you may result in a third breed. If your trying to get a specific breed, use the search feature in the marketplace and see if anyone has reproduced that breed. If they have, zoom in on the horses that came up and look at it's bloodlines. If no one has reproduced that breed it is up to you to try and breed it. For example, if your trying to produce a spanish horse, I bet crossing two different american breeds won't get you that breed. All breeds listed in game are from three foundation breeds: Arabians, Belgians and Przewalskis. These three breeds can not be reproduced by crossing two other breeds, only by crossing the same breed.

The more pure a particular breed becomes, the more it becomes like it's own unique breed. Example: The first thoroughbred born may not be the fastest, but when bred with other thoroughbreds it began getting faster as other blood was mixed also bred for speed. And to keep from inbreeding, more fast horses were bred and mixed in to make even a faster thoroughbred.

Overbreeding and inbreeding, it takes effect naturally with out my additional coding! Horses that are Inbred refers to horses bred together that are closely related. What happens when this does occur is the lack of new blood- and rounding off of bloodlines, and eventually dud/deformed horses. Overbreeding can also take a toll on the horses abilities and genetics. For example, a horse bred so much for speed will eventually have problems in other areas, like it's tiny brain, misguided attitude, and fragile legs. So if you are trying to get great blood, it is nice to make it pure but new blood can enhance the horse in other ways. But be careful of getting a rounded off or 'glue' horse. A glue horse is one I call that is 'average average average average' and lesser descriptions in it's statistics, or to that extent. To get an all a round supurb horse will take a lot of careful and selective breeding, and tons of mouse clicks :).

Champions can reproduce Champions indeed! Horses can VERY slowly have their natural abilities changed - their implimented genetics. If a horse becomes is trained to so fast, intelectual, strong or enduring from it's birth state it will reproduce faster horses. This can happen but to take a closer look at it, lets look at the virtual cells: There are a bunch of cells not working, and some work on strengh muscles, some work in the brain, some work in speed muscles, some work in the heart and so forth. Suppose you constantly train your horse in intelectual activities. Eventually all the cells available- not working, will be busy working, and cells from other less used areas will be called for up in the brain. So lets say the cells were called from the speed muscles, the horse will then become weeker. So it is really impossible to get a 200%+/supurb horse in all four stats.

"Crap-shot genes" Is the term that Gueniviere gave me for the random genes, This includes the X and Y hormone (sorta) that produces males or females. It also includes a few extra genes that can actually result in a fast horse X fast horse breeding a faster horse, or in any of the statistics. This guarantees no two of the same horses and chances to breed a natural champ from a semi-champ. It is a small amount of effect. Mares, stallions and Geldings are bred randomly: Stallions and geldings being rare. This is done to enhance challenge of game play, and increase the stud market.

"So now your saying, well you just explained real horses... I knew this!" Almost! Afraid to give these horses too many graphics or they just might become real :) Have fun, and I hope this was helpful!
